On February 23, the signing ceremony for the China-Laos AI Innovation Cooperation Center (Center), collaboratively established by Guangxi and Laos, took place in Vientiane. The Center represents the first artificial intelligence (AI) cooperation and innovation platform between China and an ASEAN country. Through the joint establishment of the Center, both parties aim to systematically elevate Laos" foundational capabilities in the intelligent era, thereby fostering growth across multiple sectors in the country. The initiative is set to assist ASEAN countries in constructing an autonomous and manageable AI sovereignty model. By emphasizing the development of a corpus, industry models, and AI application scenarios, it seeks to enhance collaboration between China and ASEAN countries in areas such as AI, cross-border data transfer, and talent development.
