The law enforcement authorities from China and the Philippines jointly repatriated nearly 100 Chinese nationals involved in offshore gambling operations in the Philippines on Tuesday, according to the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines.
The embassy stated that this was another significant enforcement action following the implementation of the Philippines' offshore gambling ban, highlighting joint commitments to combat such activities.
The Chinese government remains resolute in its crackdown on gambling and related crimes, and has consistently urged Chinese citizens abroad to abide by local laws and refrain from engaging in illegal activities, the embassy emphasized.
It called on Philippine authorities to take swift and decisive action to eradicate issues associated with offshore gambling.
China stands ready to cooperate with the Philippines in combating criminal activities while also urging fair enforcement to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese nationals in the country, the embassy noted.
