China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Laos held a signing ceremony for the joint establishment of the China-Laos AI Innovation Cooperation Center in Vientiane on Sunday, marking the first such platform developed between China and an ASEAN country.

The jointly-built center serves as an example model response to the “China-ASEAN Joint Statement on Facilitating Cooperation in Building a Sustainable and Inclusive Digital Ecosystem”, aiming to systematically enhance Laos' foundational capabilities in the intelligent era and empower the development of related sectors in the country.

Guangxi and ASEAN countries are collaborating to foster inclusive and beneficial global AI development. Key initiatives include promoting AI technology accessibility and enhance foundational capabilities in the intelligent age.

Looking ahead, Guangxi will strengthen collaboration with ASEAN countries, using the China-Laos AI Innovation Cooperation Center as a starting point to jointly establish similar hubs across the region, supporting the development of independent and controllable AI models.
