Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport launched two new all-cargo routes to Yangon, Myanmar’s largest city, and Dhaka, capital of Bangladesh, on Monday, according to Guizhou Civil Aviation Industry Group Co., Ltd.

The routes mark the airport’s first Southeast Asian cargo service and further expansion into South Asia, following the launch of air routes to Kolkata and Delhi in India, Karachi in Pakistan, and Moscow in 2023 and 2024.

Operated by Tianjin Air Cargo using Boeing 737-800F freighters, the new routes offer a cargo capacity of 21 metric tons, with four and five weekly flights scheduled, respectively. Flight frequencies will be adjusted based on market demand.

Inbound cargo consists mainly of seafood, including crabs and eels, while outbound shipments focus on garments, fabrics, flowers, electronic components, and machinery parts.

The new services aim to enhance Guiyang’s international air freight network and improve the efficiency of delivering "Made in Guizhou" products to ASEAN and South Asian markets.

They will also bolster the airport’s role in developing an “Air Silk Road” and advancing its position as a key international cargo hub in Southwest China.
