On December 31, 2024, Mohan"s Entry-Exit Frontier Inspection Station announced that Mohan Port on China's border with Laos has inspected more than 7,900 international passenger trains of the China-Laos Railway, handling over 301,000 inbound and outbound passengers from 100 countries and regions this year, marking a year-on-year increase of 136%. According to statistics, the China-Laos Railway has transported over 38,900 inbound and outbound foreign passengers in 2024, with approximately 48% traveling visa-free. The top three sources of inbound and outbound passengers are Laos, Thailand, and Malaysia. The main reasons for their travel include sightseeing and leisure, visiting relatives and friends, as well as employment and business purposes. (Bo)
